Prompt Management

Customize the prompts used for answer generation and entity extraction. Navigate to Tools → Prompt manager in your domain to view and edit active prompts. Your custom instructions are appended to the platform's built-in system prompts, so you only need to specify the additional behavior you want.

Tip
Each prompt field supports up to 5,000 characters. Use the Reset to default button to discard your customizations and revert to the platform defaults at any time.

The answer generation prompt controls how the LLM generates responses from retrieved context. Use it to adjust tone, length constraints, citation style, or domain-specific terminology. Changes take effect immediately for new conversations. Use the Evaluations tool to measure the impact of prompt changes on answer quality.

The entity extraction prompt defines how Guides Knowledge AI identifies key entities (products, features, concepts) from user questions. These entities are used for intent routing, analytics grouping, and knowledge graph enrichment. Customize this prompt to ensure domain-specific terminology is recognized correctly.
